On 13 August 2020, the LME issued its Discussion Paper on LME Passport (Notice Number 20/194). This is concerning the LME’s proposal to develop a digital document register to be administered by the LME. The platform will store and maintain essential provenance documents for traded metal; incorporating both certificates of analysis and emerging certifications, standards and disclosures. It will act as a centralised repositary available to all metal owners and their agents.
